The Black-billed Magpie, Pica hudsonia, is a bird of the Corvidae family that inhabits the western half of North America, and it is a distinct specie to the European Magpie, Pica pica. However, like all corvids the Black-billed Magpie is an opportunistic omnivore huntings or foraging for seeds, fruit, insects, eggs, etc., and it is going to find near fields, pastures, thickets, and cities as well. Furthermore, it is a non-migratory bird even though some birds may move south or to lower elevations in winter.
La urraca de pico negro, Pica hudsonia, es un ave de la familia de los Córvidos, Corvidae, la cual vamos a encontrar en la mitad oeste de Norteamérica. Además, la especie Pica hudsonia es diferente genéticamente de la especie Europea Pica pica, aunque su aspecto es similar. Pero como todos los córvidos, la urraca de pico negro es un ave oportunista que se va a alimentar de semillas, frutos, insectos, huevos, etc., y la vamos a encontrar en campos, pastizales, y ciudades. Aunque esta considerada un ave no migratoria, algunos ejemplares se van a desplazar al sur o van a bajar desde zonas más elevadas para resguardarse del invierno.
