It is identified by its yellow eyes and legs, silver wings, and its short bill is yellow with a dark ring.
Se puede diferenciar de otras gaviotas por sus ojos y patas de color amarillo, sus alas plateadas, y su pico amarillo marcado con un anillo negro.
Furthermore, it is an opportunistic bird which steal food from other birds, and it has adapted well to taking food discarded or even left unattended by people. However, the gull's natural enemies are rats, foxes, cats, raccoons, coyotes, hawks, eagles, and dogs.
Además, es bien conocido por ser un ave oportunista, la cual le roba la comida a otras aves, e incluso busca comida entre los envoltorios de comida dejados por la gente. Por otra parte, sus depredadores naturales son las ratas, zorros, gatos, mapaches, coyotes, halcones, águilas, y perros.
